2014

BAND hosted the 2014 Annual Luncheon “IMPACT: Today, Tomorrow and Beyond” at Tower Club, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

BAND welcomes Nancy Merolla and Ramon Rodriguez as new members of the Board of Directors.

BAND was awarded 1.2 million dollars in NSP1 and NSP3 funds to rehabilitate properties in the City of Hollywood to be purchased by low-to-moderate income families.

BAND was awarded $10,000 through The Bank of America Chartiable Foundation to fund organization’s Community Development activities.

BAND was awarded $10,000 through the TD Charitable Foundation for its Healthy Homes Initiative.

BAND was awarded $100,000 Priority Markets Grant through the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation’s “Leading the Way Home” to assist Vetaran families with homeownership opportunities.

 

2013 

BAND hosted the 2013 Annual Luncheon “Generation Next” at Tower Club, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

BAND completed the rehabilitazion process and sold over 100 properties to low-to-moderate income buyers.

BAND provided hurricane hardening through the Disaster Relief Incentive Program to over 20 families in Broward County.

BAND hosted ten (10) One-Hour NSP (Neighborhood Stabilization Program) Workshops, providing information to potential home buyers in Broward County.

 

2012

BAND hosted the 2012 Annual Luncheon at Tower Club, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

BAND completed the Roosvelt Gardens Model Block funded by the Wells Fargo Housing Foundation’s “Leading the Way Home” Priority Markets Grant, 30 properties were beautified.

BAND begun accepting applications for the Disaster Relief Initiative (DRI) program which provided up to $40,000 to homeowners of Broward County for hurricane hardening.

BAND welcomed Bonnye Deese as the new Executive Director.

BAND Board of Directors hosted a meet and greet event to introduce the new Executive Director at Duffy’s in Plantation, Florida.

 

2011

BAND hosted the 2011 Annual Luncheon at Tower Club, Fort Lauderdale, Florida

BAND’s newly approved board of directors participates in long-term strategic planning meeting with BAND’s advisory committee and staff.

BAND host the Florida Alliance of Community Development Corporations (FLACDC) 2011 Summit “Maximizing Opportunities for Community Economic Development”.

BAND purchases its 100th home.

 

2010

BAND hosted the 2010 Annual Luncheon at Tower Club, Fort Lauderdale, Florida

BAND moves to its new office resulting from expanded program development activities

BAND awarded $2.9 million for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) Initiative (The City of Sunrise and The City of Hollywood).

BAND purchases its first property in its participation in the National Stabilization Program Initiative. The home was purchased in The City of Sunrise.

 

2009 

BAND certified as a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO)

BAND embarked on its largest project ever, submits proposals for the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) Initiative to Broward County and The City of Plantation. BAND awarded $12.4 million for NSP-1 (Broward County and The City of Plantation).

 

2007

BAND hires and introduces Patricia Stephenson as its Executive Director.

BAND introduces its Power of Partnership model.

 

2006

BAND receives Thurgood Marshall Award from Urban League of Broward County.

Hollywood Homes Project completed.

BAND introduces and participates in Employer Assisted Housing Program.

BAND launches initial website.

 

2005

BAND writes White Paper – Consolidating Housing with Broward County.

BAND conducts Hollywood Project Home Tour.

 

2004

BAND and its members help launch Florida Community Development Corporation (FLACDC).

BAND establishes summer internship with interns from Florida Atlantic University (FAU).

BAND hosts Affordable Housing Conference.

BAND holds groundbreaking ceremony for the Hollywood Project.

Hollywood Project presented to the City of Hollywood.

 

2001 

Broward Alliance for Neighborhood Development (BAND) incorporated as a 501(c) 3 non-profit.

Hollywood Project presented to BAND. Project proposal presented an 18 scattered-site owner-occupied development plan.

Hollywood Project presented to the City of Hollywood.
